Letter from the AAHAM President:
Dear AAHAM Friends and Colleagues:
As we enter the last quarter of 2020, this unprecedented year continues to bring both personal and professional challenges to us all. We have all had to make many adjustments and reimagine new routines that will remain part of who we are and how we do what we do for an undetermined amount of time to come.
You don’t need me to tell you that this is an extremely tough time in both our country and in our profession. This is why your AAHAM membership is more important than ever.
Our Education Committee has been working hard to bring you valuable, timely education. These are free opportunities for knowledge and CEUs. Be sure to visit our website as new events are being added regularly. Our local chapters are also offering education to help you stay current, informed and competitive.
Our Certification Committees are committed to bringing you a stellar certification program, with opportunities to grow as your career does and add impact to your resume. The AAHAM certification program is the best in the revenue cycle industry and truly sets us apart. Our popular free certification webinar series has gone remote so you can watch the recordings and listen when convenient for your schedule. There is also a short test for CEU seekers.
Our Government Relations Committee is taking the lead on important issues that impact our industry and those that we serve. In addition to the creation of our Patient Advocate Task Force, we are focusing on Pricing Transparency, Surprise Billing and Prior Authorizations. Rich Lovich has joined 2 workgroup meetings on the FCC Robocall Committee and continues to keep us updated on this exciting endeavor.
It is now more critical than ever to maintain your AAHAM membership and make use of the support of your AAHAM networks and AAHAM resources at the National and Chapter level. Your membership offers a robust network to reach others that “do what you do” and job connections when and if needed.
AAHAM is a unique association like no other, our mission is education but your membership offers so much more; support, trust and strength and a forum to connect and to belong.
All my best,
Lori M. Sickelbaugh, CRCE
