Bill Spare National AAHAM Recognition Award - Chapter Excellence Award - AAHAM Journal Award
The Bill Spare National AAHAM Recognition Award is presented to a National AAHAM member to acknowledge and honor significant, commendable and long-standing contributions to the AAHAM organization.
The award is named in honor of Bill Spare, CPAM, who served as the National AAHAM President from 1996-1998. Bill demonstrated integrity and leadership in every role he served within the organization and provided support and encouragement for so many of its members.

The Chapter Excellence Award is designed to recognize and reward local AAHAM chapters for excellence in pursuing the goals of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management. For the purpose of this award program,excellence is defined as outstanding, innovative and balanced performance in:
- Programs and activities in support of AAHAM's mission
- Education programs
- Professional development
- Membership development
The Chapter Excellence Award application is designed to permit all chapters to participate in this awards program, regardless of size or location. The criteria are basic to a well-functioning chapter with active participation of its members.

The AAHAM Journal Award is designed to recognize excellence in journalism and graphics design in journals, newsletters and e-journal of AAHAM chapters published during the preceding period of July 1 - June 30. Chapters entering the competition should submit copies of their journal, newsletter or e-journal to the National Headquarters office, accompanied by a brief letter of transmittal.
