Savor the summer; ANI comes in autumn

posted on
We are on the home stretch of summer and soon turning the corner to fall. The kids are starting to think about going back to school and here at our national headquarters August means plans for the upcoming ANI are in full swing.

I love the change of seasons but I savor these long summer days when my dogs and I can head out in the coolness of evening for our nightly walks without walking home in the dark. Washington and Northern Virginia are known for their long steamy summer days. It’s hard to imagine all of those politicians who worked in the nation’s capital years ago without the relief of air conditioning.
New Orleans, as with all of our destinations, was selected as our site several years ago since planning the ANI requires more pre-planning than one imagines. New Orleans as a meeting city continues to wow attendees. It just keeps getting better. New Orleans is continually voted as one of the best meeting and convention cities by attendees. I know after the ANI, you will agree!

The early bird deadline for registration is August 16th; and it’s worth taking advantage of these savings, so register asap.

At the ANI, events, meetings and education keeps everyone busy and our NOLA theme will be reflected in many of our events. There are surprises too that I think you will enjoy. As with all of our ANIs; there are evenings on your own and New Orleans offers a host of dining options. It really is a city known for its cuisine and southern hospitality. There’s excellent public transportation and the city’s streetcars are a tourist experience on their own. New Orleans offers pedestrian friendly streets and great places to stroll to feel the pulse of the city. If you are bringing families with you or extending your trip; New Orleans offers something for all ages and interests. I encourage you to come early or stay late to take in the sights and sounds of NOLA.
My summer certainly has been special; the Galler household seems to expand on a regular basis with visiting family, grandchildren and friends. I hope you and your family enjoyed some special time together this summer too.
