AAHAM Values its Volunteers
April 6-13 (celebrated
all month) recognizes the value of volunteers during National Volunteer Week
and it’s a perfect opportunity to say thank you to all of our AAHAM volunteers. You are who makes this association special.
Volunteering is about giving,
contributing and helping others and the community. Volunteering means working with others to
make meaningful contributions. This is what our AAHAM members do! An article in
The Business Times said the value of volunteering is much deeper, much more
fulfilling and much more important in contributing to a healthy and vibrant
community than money can ever measure.
People volunteer for an endless variety
of reasons. Many people want to gain experience, acquire new skills, meet new
people or expand their network of contacts.
Some volunteer as a way to get a new job or start a career. Others just
want to give back to their industry or community, help a friend or promote a
worthwhile activity. They do it because it makes them feel good. This is the intrinsic value of volunteering.
Volunteering is rich and diverse.
At AAHAM, the success of each of our
chapters takes volunteers lending a hand.
And from a few hours a month to endless hours, there are volunteer
opportunities to suit every member. Whether
helping register guests, setting up for a meeting, writing articles for the
newsletter, planning events, running for office, you are the people that
count. These are large and small acts
given freely. Volunteerism is helping,
giving and contributing.
