Signs of fall

posted on

It seems that children are returning to school earlier and earlier. Seeing the yellow school buses in the neighborhood and the extra traffic, reminds me that fall is just around the corner. Our summer weather will (gratefully) soon be replaced with cool, crisp days and earlier sunset. The leaves will be turning glorious shades of red, orange and yellow and Halloween decorations will quickly fill the shelves replacing the back-to-school displays. Crisp apples and homemade cider will be at the outdoor fruit stands and farmers’ markets along with pots of mums and other seasonal flowers. You can tell I love autumn!

With the children back in school; their homework may inspire you to study too. Fall is a perfect time to pursue career continuing education and certification. While they are hard at their books; you can be studying too.

AAHAM’s professional certification program has been in existence for many years. With exams much like what certified public accountants and lawyers must take in their fields, AAHAMs certification is well regarded and recognized. To provide certification means that rigorous standards of our certification program are met and maintained. As an association, we must meet and comply with requirements of a professional certifying organization.

It’s also important to remember that much like college degrees, certifications are portable, and they follow you in your career trajectory. Your value in the job market is enhanced with your certifications.

Our certification programs require commitment but the benefits are invaluable. When you are certified, make sure you take advantage of the opportunities to let others know you have AAHAM certifications, use the credentials on your business card, email signature and elsewhere. It’s an accomplishment to share and be recognized for.

Fall also means the ANI. This year we head to Las Vegas. If you are considering attending the ANI this year but haven’t decided, remember that by attending educational sessions, you earn two AAHAM CEUs per each educational hour. It a great way to get your CEUs at one time and one place.

Enjoy your fall season and I hope to see you at the ANI!
